- What’s the catch with “free”?
- There isn’t one, and the reason is boring: a page costs us almost nothing to serve. Our hosting bill is basically the same whether ten shops use us or a thousand. So we don’t need to charge you to exist — we only need to earn when you actually get paid. Charging rent on a thing that costs us nothing would just be a toll.
- Do you take a cut of tips?
- No — 0% on tips, card or crypto. On card, the tip is passed through whole and the fee never touches it. On crypto, the money never passes through us at all: it goes from their wallet straight to yours. If we ever change that, it will be announced here in plain numbers before it happens, not discovered on a statement.
- Why is crypto cheaper than card?
- Because it actually is cheaper to move. A Stellar transaction costs a fraction of a cent; a card costs 2.9% plus 30¢ before anyone else is paid. A plain wallet-to-wallet payment we take nothing on at all. An escrow hold is 2%, because that rail is ours to build and run — the 2-of-3 signing, the settlement, the receipts — and that fee is what pays for it existing.
- Do I need to be approved to take crypto?
- No. You save a payout address and your shop can take deposits — no business entity, no verification queue, no country list, no waiting on anyone. That’s the part we’re proudest of. Card payouts still go through Stripe’s own onboarding, because that’s Stripe’s rule, not ours.
- Do you ever hold my money?
- No. Card payments land in your own Stripe account. Crypto goes wallet to wallet — straight from your customer’s wallet to the address you control, with nothing of ours in between. Your money is never in our custody, not even for a second: we can’t freeze it, lose it, or spend it, and that’s by construction rather than by promise.
- When does $25 make sense?
- Around $500/month in sales — below that the percentage is cheaper, above it the flat rate is. And that maths ignores the domain and mailboxes, which you would otherwise be buying anyway. You can switch whenever; we’d rather name the crossover than let you overpay on the wrong one.
- Does the plan include a domain and mailboxes?
- No — the plan is the fee waiver, and that is all it is. A domain and mailboxes are separate add-ons at the prices listed above, added from your dashboard whenever you want them. We would rather sell you three clear things than one bundle you have to decode, and it means you never pay for a mailbox you did not ask for.
